丘挺 Qiu Ting
丘挺，1971年生于广东。现中央美术学院教授，博士生导师，博士后合作导师，中国画学院院长。中国艺术研究院博士生导师。上海大学美术学院特聘教授、博士生导师。清华大学书法研究所研究员。中国国家画院特聘研究员。
Qiu Ting was born in 1971 in Guangdong Province. Currently, he is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, a postdoctoral research supervisor, and the dean of the Chinese Painting College. He is also a doctoral supervisor at the Chinese National Academy of Arts. He is a specially-appointed professor and doctoral supervisor at the Shanghai University of Fine Arts. He is a researcher at the Institute of Calligraphy of Tsinghua University. He is a specially-appointed researcher at the National Academy of Chinese Painting.

作品以云雾中的巨山为主体，姿态各异的山峰层叠耸立冲破云霄，画面中略施浅花青色，同时用白粉点落在画面上，形成飞雪与云雾的呼应，丰富表现了山峦的高耸峻拔与云雾缭绕的氛围。
The painting features colossal mountains piercing through clouds as its focal point. Layered peaks in varied forms soar beyond the misty veil.** A pale cyan wash dominates the palette, while dabs of white pigment evoke swirling snowflakes that interplay with drifting clouds. This technique masterfully enhances both the peaks' towering majesty and the ethereal atmosphere of enveloping mist.

作品是丘挺为2021年苏州博物馆个人展览创作的系列作品之一。作品表现了贝聿铭先生“封山之作”———苏州博物馆以壁为纸，以石为绘的假山片石（Suzhou Museum-Rockery）。作品以极淡的墨色和恰当且柔和色彩，在白墙与假山的几何交错中探讨园林中“人造的自然”与山水画造境之间的相辅相成。
This work is one of the series created by Qiu Ting for his personal exhibition at the Suzhou Museum in 2021. The work depicts the "A masterpiece of closure" of I.M.Pei - the Suzhou Museum's rockery (Suzhou Museum - Rockery), which uses walls as paper and stones as paintings. Through the use of extremely light ink and appropriate and soft colors, within the geometric interweaving of the white walls and the rockery, the work explores the mutual complementarity between "artificial nature" in gardens and the artistic conception of landscape paintings.

作品整体以水墨淋漓的手法描绘湖山之景，画面中烟雨朦胧的山峦如同湖上浮玉。湖面略施淡彩，似碧波映空，摒弃写实刻画而取朦胧韵致，形成“恍兮惚兮”的玄妙境域。
The entire work depicts lakes and mountains through drenched-ink technique. Mist-shrouded peaks rise like jade isles afloat on the waters, while the lake surface—gently glazed with pale washes—reflects the sky's hue. Rejecting literal representation in favor of ethereal lyricism, it conjures a realm of dreamlike ambiguity.

Since 2004, he has been working at the Chinese Painting Institute of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is currently a professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, a doctoral supervisor, a postdoctoral cooperation supervisor, the president of the Chinese Painting Institute, a doctoral supervisor at the Chinese Academy of Arts, a special professor and doctoral supervisor at Shanghai University of Arts and Science, a researcher at the Tsinghua Calligraphy Research Institute, a special researcher at the China National Painting Academy, and a deputy director of the Song Painting Art Research Professional Committee of the China Cultural and Art Development Promotion Association. He has long been dedicated to the exploration of Chinese painting language and theoretical research, emphasizing comparative studies among various art forms, especially seeking the open boundaries of tradition through exploration of ink-wash painting and "dialogue" with different cultures.
